Smooth experience, quality content

I decided to get the Nature weekly subscription. The ordering process on their site was straightforward; I navigated it easily. Delivery of the first print issue took about a week to reach my address, which was acceptable. I also got immediate digital access, which was a plus. The content itself, as expected, is top-notch peer-reviewed research. I had a quick question about managing my subscription later, and their customer support responded to my email within 24 hours with a helpful answer. Overall, a very positive and efficient experience.

Decent journal, minor site glitch

I signed up for a Nature digital subscription. The articles are incredibly insightful and well-researched, exactly what I expected from Nature. Access was instant after payment, which was great. My only small gripe was during the sign-up; the payment page reloaded once before confirming, making me wonder if it went through. It eventually did, but it was a slight hiccup. Customer service didn't need to be contacted. Value for money is good for the quality of information provided, especially with the student discount I used.

Love my Nature subscription!

I finally subscribed to Nature Communications and I'm so glad I did! The articles are fascinating and it's so easy to navigate their online portal. I've been wanting this for ages and it totally lives up to the hype. I'm definitely going to keep this subscription going. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in cutting-edge science!

Got a Nature print sub

I grabbed a Nature print subscription a few weeks back. It arrived pretty fast, took maybe 5 days to reach me here in the Midwest. The journal itself is good, no complaints there. I like flipping through the physical pages. The website was easy enough to figure out when I ordered it. All in all, a solid experience, no drama.

Good deal on a student subscription

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best price for a reliable science journal. I found that Nature offered a student discount for their weekly subscription which really made it affordable. I compared it to a few others, and the savings here were significant, definitely worth it. The subscription process was smooth, and I got immediate access to the digital content. It felt like a smart purchase for the academic resources I'm getting.

Thinking of signing up for Nature, but I also look at Science magazine. Any thoughts on which one is 'better' or worth subscribing to first?

A Alex Jackson 1 month ago
Oh man, classic debate! Both are top-tier. Nature feels a bit broader in scope sometimes, covers everything. Science might lean a tiny bit more biology/life sciences, but it's close. Depends on your specific interests really.

I subscribe to Nature because my field is more aligned with their focus. Science is great too, but I feel like Nature has a slightly higher impact factor overall, if that matters to you.

Does anyone know if Nature does free trials for any of their journals? Want to check out Nature Methods before committing.

A Ashley B. 2 weeks ago
Hmm, I don't recall seeing a free trial option myself. Usually you just subscribe or access through a uni. Might be worth checking their site though.

I think they don't really do free trials in the traditional sense. It's more like a direct subscription model. You might find some articles open access though, sometimes.

How long does it usually take for the print issues of Nature to arrive in the US, specifically to California?

J Jason W. 3 weeks ago
Mine usually show up within a week of publication date in Texas, so Cali should be similar. Pretty reliable.

W William Perez 3 weeks ago
Yeah, for me in New York, it's usually 5-7 business days after the issue date. Never had a problem with delays, even though it's coming from overseas I guess.

Can you buy single articles from Nature or do you have to get a full subscription to read anything?

S Sean J. 3 days ago
Yeah, you totally can buy single articles. It's a bit pricey though, like $30-40 per article sometimes. Usually better to get a sub if you'll read a few.

P Paul Jones 1 day ago
Definitely possible, I've done it when I needed one specific paper for a project and didn't have institutional access at the time. Just look for the 'buy PDF' option on the article page.

I heard about some introductory offer for new subscribers. How do you apply that? Is it a code or something automatic?

A Amanda Mitchell 1 month ago
Nah, it's usually not a code you enter. When you go through the subscription process on their site, it should just show you the introductory pricing directly if you're eligible. It's built into the selection.

A Abigail Scott 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they don't really do traditional promo codes. Just choose the intro offer when you're picking your subscription type, it's usually pretty clear on the site.
